Then \u003cb data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003erepent\u003c\/b\u003e (turn to God), and believe the gospel, \u003ci data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e“which is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes”\u003c\/i\u003e (Romans 1:16), and receive God’s free gift. Romans 6:23b says \u003ci data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e“But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eA gift is something you accept or reject. If you try to work for it then it is not a gift, but a wage or payment. Besides, God clearly declares in Ephesians 2:8-9, \u003cb data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003ci data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast [brag].”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eIf you try to purchase this free gift, you insult both the gift and the giver. To pray to a man is to put men on the same level as God.
